Maheshtala College, an esteemed institution, has been duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body responsible for the maintenance of standards in higher education in India. In 2004, the college underwent a comprehensive evaluation process by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), an autonomous institution that assesses and accredits institutions of higher education in the country. After this thorough assessment, Maheshtala College was awarded a respectable C++ grade.

In an effort to continually improve the quality of education and maintain high standards, the college sought re-accreditation in 2016. Once again, the NAAC conducted a rigorous evaluation, examining various aspects of the institution, including its infrastructure, faculty, research, and student support services. As a result of this extensive appraisal, Maheshtala College was awarded a higher grade of B+, reflecting the institution’s commitment to excellence and its ongoing efforts to enhance the educational experience for its students.
